Jeannette Arlin Koster

Jeannette Koster is a member of our Municipal Law & Land Use,  Commercial Litigation and Real Estate Transactions groups, and practices extensively in the areas of New York municipal law and environmental law. She has an LLM degree from Pace Law School in Environmental Law, and her J.D. degree from George Washington University. Jeannette has extensive experience in representing municipalities.  In prior positions, Jeannette represented the City of New York in the Department of Transportation, Department of Correction, Corporation Counsel, and Loft Board; and the Town of Yorktown as Town Attorney. She has advised a wide range of elected and appointed officials, including deputy mayors, town supervisor, town clerk, town comptroller, town assessor, building inspector, and village managers. Among other things, she has drafted local laws, negotiated contracts, and drafted competitive bid documents. Jeannette also has considerable litigation experience, primarily defending municipalities in Article 78 and federal Section 1983 cases. Jeannette represents clients in real property transactions, including conveyances, leases, licenses and easements. She previously served as chair of the New York City Bar Association’s Land Use, Planning & Zoning Committee and is a member of the Local and State Government Section of the New York State Bar Association.
